We’ve been showcasing individual PA school highlights by state, which has been so fun because it gives you a chance to really see what makes a PA school tick – what is important to each PA program – and what makes them stand out from other PA schools!
PA schools are so unique and they all have slightly different teaching formats and curriculum. When you are narrowing down your list of PA schools to apply to, this is a great way to help you continue to funnel down your list!
Without further ado, here are the attributes that we think are unique about Arkansas PA schools:
- Incorporates cultural immersion simulations into the curriculum to promote cultural competence and humility
- Christian faith based program
- Emphasis on cultural diversity
- 10 core rotations and 2 elective rotations, one of the core rotations is orthopedics and another core rotation is geriatrics
- Service learning requirement during didactic phase of program where PA students partner with a service learning community partner to facilitate learning about cultural issues and social determinants
There is one last (potentially upcoming) PA school in Arkansas (Arkansas College of Health Sciences) which is in the process of applying to start their PA school, so stay tuned for this one.
Maybe you will add one of these PA schools to your list of schools you plan to apply to! And as always, make sure your CASPA application is super competitive so you can land interviews! If you aren’t landing interviews or you aren’t sure your CASPA app is strong enough to stand out from thousands of other applicants, definitely check out our CASPA App Review and Feedback service!
